Presenting has always been one of my weaknesses. I do not like being put on the spot and some of the times I am not as clear with my answers or explanations as I would like to be. However, whenever I am obligated to present I prepared ahead of time which is very helpful. My ability to present has improved a lot throughout the semester in a number of ways. I am a lot more confident than I was at the start of the semester and watching others present has given me some pointers and ideas on how to improve. Though I have improved in this area I believe I could be even more confidant and I could also work on projection.
You as a contributor: When discussing my ideas in class I am respectful and try to apply what I have learned to my responses. However, I do not feel I have contributed as much as I should have this semester. I like to hear others ideas and I often don’t think about giving my ideas or I just do not have any.
You as a listener:I am a very good listener. I have learned that listening is a very helpful tool. Not only does it enable me to understand and learn, listening has helped me get to know and understand others a lot better too. When others are presenting I am quiet and I try to focus on what is going on. I have never struggled much with listening but once in a while I find myself bored or lost in my own thoughts and I need to remind myself to pay attention. In the future I am going to try and listen more attentively while others are presenting.
